Keynote speeches from Laura Ling and Euna Lee...
The gala banquet starts at 7 p.m. in the Renaissance Hollywood Grand Ballroom (fifth floor, where the career expo was earlier in the week). Frank Buckley of KTLA and Betty Nguyen of CBS will emcee.
We’ll hear from the journalists who were imprisoned in North Korea, and whose release ultimately was led by a mission that involved former president Bill Clinton.

Rise and shine for Roxana Saberi
Roxana Saberi was detained in Iran last year while reporting for a book about Iranian society. AAJA members were among those to organize calls for her release. A court overturned her sentence five months later, and she was freed.
Roxana will be among the speakers at today’s plenary, “Reporting From Hot Spots” — 8:30-9:45 a.m., Hollywood Ballroom, Studio D.
